THANK YOU

I saw you on 'This Morning' after having read about your most recent case in the papers. Thank goodness that there are people like you who are willing to help ordinary workers fight against their Goliaths. Thanks again.

Breakthrough in Europe. Framework Agreement outlawing workplace bullying.

Breakthrough: Up to now there has been no law against workplace bullying and Tribunals and Courts have had to rely on The Harassment Act and discrimination laws where claims of bullying are brought before them. On 26th Aprl 2007, the day after we launched The National Bullying Helpline Charity at The House of Commons, Brussels released an announcement confirming that the ETUC have signed a framework agreement on harassment and violence at work. The agreement aims to prevent, and where necessary, manage problems of bullying and physical violence in the workplace. Companies in Europe are now required to adopt a policy of zero-tolerance towards such behaviour and draw up appropriate procedures.

The DTI : Michael Gibbons Review : Also coinciding with the launch,  The Michael Gibbons Review, a DTI Report urging employers to work closer with helplines and mediators - such as ACAS and The National Bullying Helpline. The complex statutory 3-step process is likely to be abolished by April 2009 and replaced with a less confrontational approach.
